Was on the hunt for best TexMex in Austin. After researching, it seemed like Eldorado was highly recommended. I do not regret picking here at all. The salsas were so fresh and tasty. Couldn't decide if I liked the green or the classic better. My margarita was freshly made and not from bottle mix like most. I will definitely be back if I ever find myself in Austin again!
I tried the breakfast tacos today, buying some for my team at work. I can say that they went down a treat amongst the coworkers! We went somewhat basic, potato, bacon and carnitas. They did not disappoint. Even the potato one was good, it was a bit of a hash. I will definitely have to come back for dinner or lunch sometime and try something else from the menu. It's not a huge place, and I have seen it a little busy the last time I tried to come here. I just didn't have the time to wait is all. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
We've been on a summer food tour and today was a Major YES! We pull into the parking lot... Front row parking! YES! This must be a sign! When we walk in the restaurant, they are on a 25 minute wait... Boo...BUT Hold on just a second...2 seats just opened up at the bar?? YES!! Started with the Pinarita. Loved it!! We had the salsa sampler...it did not disappoint. Everything from mild to hot to hotter. We had the street tacos. Yummmmm. Tuesdays chalupa special. YES! Great as well! But you absolutely have to try the Clyde's fried Chicken taco! Crispy bacon- fried chicken tender-romaine lettuce and pickled onions. YASSSS My mouth is watering remembering this dish! Great food. Great vibe. Great owner! Hi Joel!! Love love love the swag! This place is a gem. So happy to have found you on my summer food tour. Will certainly be back! If you're considering it just say YES!!
JORDAN!!!! He's amazing. A great people person who is genuine and kind. I hope when you go you get him as a server. You will be blessed. Thank you for everything. We need more people like you in the world.
Wow.. what an amazing experience. The vibe, the margarita, the chips and salsa, the enchiladas.. its was all 100%!! Service was excellent as well! Got the salsa sampler. Great!! All flavors were very very tasty. House margarita. Best $10 margarita I ever had. Rene's awesome enchiladas.. a MUST try short ribs take on enchiladas. Absolutely fire! I can't wait to come back to this spot next time I'm in the Austin area! This Tex-Mex restaurant did NOT disappoint!
Am I piggy because I wanted to order every single thing on the menu? Or am I piggy because our table did (almost) order every single thing on the menu? We had an excellent experience. You need to book a reservation well in advance unless you enjoy waiting a really long time for a table. The food is absolutely delicious. If I lived near here, I would visit often and just deal with weighing 300 pounds. I mean, I could just buy bigger pants, right? The location is funky. The restaurant is located in mini-mall which has a number of closed businesses and hopefully has seen better days. But never mind. Eldorado was booming during our visit. The decor inside is delightfully funky. The menu is outstanding and our server knew the menu inside out and offered great recommendations. They have beer, wine, FIVE, count 'em, FIVE different (and interesting) mocktails, and very good cocktails. I went with their special "Black Widow" cocktail (made with mezcal and blackberries) and it was smoky and sweet and fantastic. I thought I would hate it but I loved it. Don't tell anyone but I might have drank two of them and they were strong. If you like salsa, start with the salsa sampler. You get six different salsas (plenty for the table to share). I didn't love the super mild one but loved almost all of them. As long as we are sharing, I wanted to rub at least two of them over my body. We also ordered the queso and it was excellent. I absolutely recommend it. For my main meal, I ordered the Cubanos Carnitas and it was very crisp and flavorful. The entrees come with two sides and they offer many different sides. I selected the CheezNRice (rice and queso), which was amazing, and the No Hater Tater (mashed potatoes with queso, of course) and it was terrific. Their sides are wonderful. The tortillas and chips are freshly-made and delicious. Their enchiladas are great. I am dreaming of my next visit and presently looking into buying bigger pants. Go big or go home.
Busy busy spot so make reservations, we had a great server who was spot on for food on time and getting us drinks. Salsa was a good creamer one which we enjoyed. I wanted enchiladas and got them with cheese. 8 of us there and all finished our plates as it was delicious. We will be back for special occasions.
Phenomenal. Perfection. Service was excellent. She was on top of everything. Couldn't have been better. Ordered the Nomad plate for breakfast. The flavors and spices and added veggies were amazing. Each bite was awesome whether it was eggs or potatoes or beans. All was delicious.
Food: 5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Order as shown in pictures: Eldorado Burrito with chicken Veg Enchiladas with cheese We have been here multiple times and it has become a go to spot for dinner. Servers are very suggestive and accommodating. A good portion size that will make you get a to go box in the end. Initially they serve chips and salsa. You get to choose from three types of salsa. Hot medium and mild. Will recommend Medium spicy as it hits the perfect spot. Last time I ordered chicken mole enchiladas. Chicken was smoky and tasty but mole sauce was too cinnamony... it tasted good but I'll recommend chicken burrito over mole enchilada any day. It is crispy from the outside and juicy in the middle with lots of chicken and veggies. All dishes that we ordered came with a side of beans and rice. Veggie enchiladas with cheese was good but I'll recommend it with veggies or chicken. Cheese on top of cheese becomes to cheesy in the end. All dishes that we ordered could be shared with another person as quantity is huge
A friend came to visit Austin, and one of the places we checked out was here. We went on a Saturday night, late - around 7:45pm, and they were still busy. We probably waited 45min to an hour, but the time went by quickly. We sat in their outdoor seating area and ordered some salsa, queso dip, and a mocktail.. and everything was delicious. I think they're known for their salsa spread, but we were in love with their queso dip. Honestly, after munching on the tortilla Chips and getting a refill, we were starting to get full. So, by the time we got seated, we ended up ordering one enchilada plate (their portions are huge) and we still had leftovers (about half leftover) that we ended up taking to go. Their enchilada was good - we ordered their Rene's Awesome Enchiladas. Even though we were full, we still ordered dessert, because why not? We got their donuts (which came in 4) and they were so good with the jam!! I have a sweet tooth, so the donuts were my favorite out of everything, then the queso dip.
